Stone-paved road of Kinjo-cho in Kanagicho

A cobblestone road made of Ryukyu limestone around the 16th century during the Ryukyu dynasty, part of the pearl road used as a public road leading from Shuri Castle to the southern part. At that time, it was nearly 10 km, but most of it was damaged in the Battle of Okinawa, and now only a section of about 300 m has escaped the war and left a remnants of those days.

Dai Akagi Giant Bishop Wood Trees

A large tree of Akagi, which is thought to be more than 200 years old, grows naturally on the Uchikinjodake precinct, south of Shuri Castle ruins. The trunk is about 20m tall.

Zuisen Distillery, Zuisen Distillery

Founded in 1887, a long-established brewery representing Shuri. This brewery is based on Shuri Sanka, an area where the awamori was ordered by the royal government during the Kingdom of ryukyu period.

Shurijo Castle, Shurijo Castle

Kingdom of ryukyu's political, diplomatic and cultural center that has been proud of for 450 years. It features a unique structure that incorporates the architectural styles of China, Japan and Ryukyu, and is Okinawa's largest wooden building. At the time of the book envoy, a ceremony was held, and a stage was set up in front of the north hall, where various performing arts were performed. It was restored in 1992 and registered with World Heritage in 2000. Following the fire of Shuri Castle Main Shrine in 2019, we are currently working on early recovery and reconstruction.
