Characteristics of the Kerama Islands
Located in the sea area of about 40 km west of Naha City, it consists of more than 20 large and small islands, and was certified as the 31st national park in 2014.
A current called the Kuroshio Current flows around the area, and there are few rivers, so a highly transparent sea called "Kerama Blue" spreads.
It is also a spawning place for sea turtles and a breeding area for humpback whale, and is a popular sea area for divers where about 200 kinds of corals inhabit and many colorful fish that live in corals.
