The climate of Okinawa

During the coldest time, the temperature may drop from 10 ° C to 12 ° C. The strong north wind from the sea will give you a sense of temperature even lower. In late January, Kanhizakura begins to bloom from the northern part of Motojima, and you can enjoy the earliest cherry blossom viewing in Japan. A professional baseball camp is also held in each region.
From March to April
In March, it gets warmer, the climate continues, and it is easy to spend during the day. In the early summer of Okinawa in April, the sea is open in various parts of the prefecture. You need to wear something like a parka or cardigan, as it can still cool down at night.
From May to June
The rainy season is from May to late June, but it is less likely to rain compared to Honshu. Summer is finally coming when the rainy season begins. The hot and humid weather continues, and the sun is growing. During the GW period, there are various entertainments throughout the prefecture.
From July to August
There are many tourists, especially family trips during summer vacations. The sea is clear blue and is suitable for marine sports. Sunscreen is a must-have item because the sun is strong. Sometimes I get hit by squalls. You can also enjoy seasonal Okinawan fruits such as mangoes and pineapple.
From September to October
The heat will continue until September and typhoons will increase, so be careful about weather information. Morning and evening gets chilly, but during the day you can enter the sea until mid-October. Also in September and October, many festivals are held in various places, so be sure to visit.
From November to December
Okinawa has almost no autumn leaves and you can't feel the feeling of autumn, but in November, the sunshine softens and the climate will stabilize. You can use short sleeves during the day until midday. From December, it has become a full-fledged cold, and there are days when a thick jacket is needed.
